Terms of Use

Effective date: May 8, 2026
Last updated: June 4, 2026
Version: 1.6

These Terms are written for Anbu Jigi, a local contact-reminder app without server accounts, with reference to mobile app terms, consumer-protection principles, Google Play policies, and the actual structure of the app.

1. Purpose

These Terms set out the conditions for using Anbu Jigi, an Android app provided by Nam Yonghyun under the personal developer brand "Sometimes Studios", and define the rights, obligations, responsibilities, and paid-item terms between the operator and users.

2. Definitions

  • App means the Anbu Jigi Android application that provides contact-cycle management, contact-record checking, and reminder features.
  • Operator means Nam Yonghyun, the individual developer who develops, operates, and distributes the app.
  • User means a person who installs and uses the app.
  • Contact record means the last-contact information entered manually by the user or confirmed after using the in-app phone or SMS buttons.

3. Effect And Acceptance

These Terms become effective when shown to the user at first launch or made available in the app or distribution page and the user continues to use the app.

If a user does not agree to these Terms, the user may stop using and delete the app.

4. Changes To The Terms

The operator may change these Terms within the limits of applicable law. Changes will be posted with the effective date and reason for change at least 7 days before taking effect where reasonably possible.

Material or unfavorable changes, including significant changes to paid-item conditions, will be announced at least 30 days in advance where reasonably possible. Urgent legal, security, or error-correction changes may be applied first and announced afterward.

5. Service Description

The app helps users manage contact cycles with people they choose to track. The app may provide:

  • Contact management based on the device address book, including full address-book import, resync, and deletion-preview cleanup for contacts removed from the device address book
  • Last-contact updates after the user confirms a phone or SMS action
  • Manual contact records entered by the user
  • Local reminders based on contact cycles
  • Ads

The app is a personal support tool. It does not guarantee relationship outcomes or guarantee that any legal or personal obligation has been fulfilled.

6. Permissions And Use Conditions

Some features require Android permissions. Contacts permission is required for core features such as full address-book import, resync, and deletion-preview cleanup for contacts removed from the device address book. Notification permission is optional. The current version does not request call-log or SMS permission.

If notification permission is denied, the app can still be used, but reminders may not appear as device notifications.

7. User Obligations

  • Users must not use the app in violation of applicable law, these Terms, or Google Play policies.
  • Users must not use the app in a way that violates another person's rights, privacy, or personal information.
  • Users must not copy, distribute, sell, rent, or reverse engineer the app except where permitted by applicable law.
  • Users are responsible for keeping their device lock, Google account, and payment methods secure.

8. Privacy And Data

The app's data handling is described in the separate Privacy Policy. The app does not send contacts or contact records to a developer server, and the current version does not process call-log or SMS records.

Deleting the app deletes app data stored on the device. The current version does not provide a developer-server backup feature. If cloud backup or device-transfer features are added later, they will require an explicit user choice and separate explanation.

9. Reminders And Contact Records

Reminders may be affected by Android, device manufacturer policies, battery optimization, permission settings, network conditions, and Google Play services.

The operator does not guarantee that notifications will always arrive at the exact time or that every contact made outside the app will be reflected automatically. Users should not rely on the app as the only tool for important schedules or legal obligations.

10. Ads And Paid Items

Free users may see Google AdMob ads.

Before ads are requested, Google may show advertising consent or ad privacy choice screens. Declining or limiting advertising privacy choices does not block the app's contact-management features. Ads may be limited, non-personalized, or not requested depending on Google SDK policy and consent status.

The current version does not offer paid in-app purchases. If paid items are added in a future version, their terms and conditions will be announced in advance.

11. Withdrawal, Refunds, And Cancellations

The current version does not offer paid in-app purchases, so refund and cancellation terms are not applicable at this time.

If paid items are added in a future version, withdrawal, refund, and cancellation will be governed by Google Play policies and applicable law.

12. Changes, Suspension, And Termination

The operator may change, suspend, or terminate all or part of the app for operational, technical, legal, security, or platform-policy reasons. Important or unfavorable changes will be announced in advance where reasonably possible.

If the app service is permanently terminated, the operator will announce the termination 30 days in advance where reasonably possible.

13. Intellectual Property

The app's code, screen composition, mascot, icons, copy, and design created by the operator belong to the operator. Users may use those materials only within normal app use and may not copy, distribute, transmit, modify, or create derivative works without prior written permission, except where permitted by applicable law.

14. Limitation Of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for losses caused by force majeure, Google Play or AdMob failures or policy changes, Android or device-manufacturer behavior, device loss, device reset, app deletion, user permission settings, user network conditions, or reliance on the app as the sole tool for important obligations.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer-protection laws, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence where applicable.

15. Minors

The app is not primarily directed to children under 14. If paid purchases are added in a future version, minors may need guardian consent for those purchases.

16. Governing Law And Disputes

These Terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. If users have mandatory consumer-protection rights in their country or region, nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

If a dispute arises, the user and operator will try to resolve it in good faith. If it cannot be resolved, the user may contact relevant consumer or privacy dispute-resolution bodies where available.
