These Terms are based on the structure of the Korea Fair Trade Commission's Standard Terms for Digital Content, the Korean Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions, the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, and Google Play policies, adapted to the actual design of Wash Timing — a local-first app with no server account that provides car-wash recommendations based on third-party weather forecasts.

These Terms are provided in Korean and English and apply equally to users worldwide. In case of any discrepancy between the two language versions, the Korean version prevails.

1. Purpose

These Terms govern the conditions of use of Wash Timing (the "App"), provided by Nam Yonghyun, an individual developer, under the individual developer brand name "Sometimes Studios", together with the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the user and the operator, and other necessary matters such as paid purchases.

3. Effect and Acceptance of the Terms

(1) These Terms apply when a user who has installed the App uses it, and take effect when the user completes the acceptance step or continues to use the App.

(2) A user who does not agree to these Terms may not use the App and has the right to decline.

(3) The Operator posts these Terms in the App's settings screen or on the distribution page so that users can review them at any time.

4. Changes to the Terms

(1) The Operator may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable law.

(2) When amending these Terms, the Operator will announce the change, its effective date, and the reason in the App or on the distribution page at least 7 days before the effective date.

(3) For changes that are unfavorable to users or otherwise significant, such as the following, the announcement will be made at least 30 days in advance, with a separate in-app notice where possible:

(4) If the Operator has clearly announced a change in accordance with the preceding paragraph and the user does not expressly object by the effective date, the user is deemed to have accepted the amended Terms. A user who does not agree to the change may terminate use by deleting the App.

(5) However, where immediate application is required — such as changes in law, urgent security measures, or the correction of an obvious error — the Operator may apply the change and provide notice afterward.

5. Description of the Service

(1) The App provides the following features to help users decide when to wash their car:

(2) The App is a personal, everyday-convenience tool to help decide when to wash a car; it does not warrant or guarantee any particular weather outcome or wash result. The nature and limits of the weather information and recommendations are governed by Section 9.

6. Conditions of Use and Permissions

(1) The App requires an internet connection to retrieve weather forecasts; the internet permission (INTERNET) is granted automatically at install. The notification permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) is optional.

(2) The App does not request location (GPS), contacts, call log, SMS, phone, or exact-alarm permissions. The region is selected by the user from a list.

(3) Even without granting the notification permission, in-app features such as recommendations and records remain usable, but the user will not receive wash notifications. Permissions can be granted or revoked at any time in device settings.

7. User Obligations

Users must not, in using the App:

Users are responsible for securely managing their own device lock, Google account, and payment methods.

8. Personal Data and Data Management

(1) The handling of personal data is governed by the separate Privacy Policy.

(2) Core app data such as wash records, cycles, preferences, and settings are stored only on the user's device and are not transmitted to the Operator's server. When retrieving forecasts, only the user's selected city information and standard network information incidental to communication are sent to the weather relay server; personal data such as wash records are not sent.

(3) If the user emails the Operator with an inquiry or bug report (there is no separate in-app inquiry feature; the user sends it directly from their own mail app), the email content reaches the Operator. This is a support request sent by the user; the specific items and purposes of processing are governed by the Privacy Policy.

(4) The App does not currently provide its own backup (export/import) feature. If a backup or device-transfer feature is added later, it will be used only after the user's explicit choice, and its scope, storage location, encryption method, retention period, and deletion method will be announced separately in the Privacy Policy and in the App.

(5) Deleting the App deletes all app data on the device irrecoverably. Because wash records and settings are stored only on the device, users should check and manage important information themselves before changing devices.

9. Nature and Limits of the Weather Information and Recommendations

(1) The car-wash recommendation (traffic light) provided by the App is everyday-convenience guidance computed by fixed rules from third-party weather forecast data (such as OpenWeather) for the user's selected region together with the user's configured wash cycle and preferences. The Operator does not perform its own weather prediction, and the App is not a weather forecasting service or a meteorological information provider.

(2) The weather forecast data is provided by third parties and, by its nature, may be inaccurate, may differ from actual weather, and may change without notice. THE WEATHER INFORMATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, as to their accuracy, completeness, reliability, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

(3) The recommendation is reference information only. The Operator does not warrant or accept responsibility for the results of washing (or not washing) a car in reliance on, or contrary to, the recommendation — such as soiling of the vehicle, the need to re-wash, costs, or lost time.

(4) Users must not rely on the App's weather information or recommendations as the sole basis for important decisions concerning safety, health, property, travel, driving, or response to disasters and severe-weather alerts. For safety-related matters such as weather warnings and disaster information, consult official sources (e.g., the national meteorological agency) directly. The App does not provide any independent judgment or prediction in the area of disasters or alerts.

(5) Because the App retrieves forecasts over an internet connection, forecast retrieval may be delayed or temporarily unavailable depending on the state of the network, the weather relay server, or the third-party data provider.

10. Limits of Notifications

(1) The App's notifications may be affected by the Android operating system, device manufacturer policies, battery-optimization settings, permission settings, and the state of the network and Google Play services.

(2) The Operator therefore does not warrant that notifications will always arrive at an exact time. Instead of promising an exact delivery time, the App re-evaluates with the latest forecast when the user opens it.

(3) Users must not rely on the App's notifications as their sole means for important schedules or safety-related decisions.

11. Advertising and Paid Purchases

(1) As there is currently no paid feature, Google AdMob advertisements may be shown to all users. Advertising starts as banners, and other formats such as interstitials may be added later. No advertising or affiliate links are placed in notifications.

(2) Before ads are shown, an advertising-consent or ad-privacy choice screen provided by Google (UMP) may be displayed. Declining or restricting ad-privacy choices does not block the App's recommendation, record, or notification features; however, under Google SDK policy, ads may be limited or shown as non-personalized.

(3) The current version provides no paid purchases. If in-app purchases (e.g., ad removal) are added later, the terms and procedures will be announced through these Terms or a separate notice.

12. Withdrawal of Subscription and Refunds

(1) As the current version provides no paid purchases, provisions on withdrawal and refunds do not apply.

(2) If paid features are added later, withdrawal and refunds through Google Play will follow Google Play's refund policy and applicable law, and users may request refunds via their Google Play order history or Google Play support.

13. Change, Suspension, and Termination of the Service

(1) The Operator may change or suspend all or part of the App's features where operationally, technically, or legally necessary. Termination of important features or changes unfavorable to users will be announced in advance where possible.

(2) In the following cases the Operator may change or suspend the service without prior notice and will give notice afterward:

(3) If the Operator permanently terminates the App's service, it will announce the termination in an in-app notice or on the distribution page at least 30 days before the effective date.

14. Intellectual Property

(1) The rights to works created by the Operator — such as the App's code, screen composition, traffic-light character, icons, text, and design — belong to the Operator.

(2) Users may use those works only within the scope of normal use of the App and may not copy, distribute, transmit, modify, or create derivative works without the Operator's prior written consent.

(3) Rights to the weather data shown by the App belong to the respective data providers (such as OpenWeather), and the App uses the data in accordance with each provider's policy. Screens that display weather show the data source ("Weather data provided by OpenWeather").

(4) The App uses third-party trademarks and works such as Android and Google Play in accordance with those third parties' policies, and the relevant rights belong to their respective owners.

15. Limitation of Liability

(1) To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator is not liable for damage arising to users from the following:

(2) The App is a free, individual-developer app and provides no express or implied warranty as to the accuracy or timeliness of its weather information, recommendation, or notification features (to the extent permitted by applicable law). Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement are also disclaimed to the extent permitted by applicable law.

(3) However, where damage arises from the Operator's willful misconduct or gross negligence, the Operator is liable in accordance with applicable law. Nothing in this Section excludes or limits any of the following:

(4) Where the Operator is liable for damages, the scope of compensation is limited to a reasonable range within the limits permitted by applicable law.

16. Use by Minors

(1) The App is not primarily directed at children under 14 (Korea) / 13 (US, EU), and is registered in Google Play Console as an app not designed for children.

(2) If paid features are added later, purchases by minors may require the consent of a legal guardian and will follow applicable law and Google Play policy.

17. Termination of the Use Agreement

(1) A user may terminate the use agreement at any time by deleting the App. Deleting the App deletes all app data on the device.

(2) The Operator may, without prior notice, restrict or block a user's use of the App or the weather relay server (only where the Operator has a technical means to do so) if the user:

(1) If a dispute arises in connection with use of the App, the user and the Operator will make good-faith efforts to resolve it through consultation.

(3) Jurisdiction over litigation under these Terms follows the competent court determined by the Korean Civil Procedure Act.

19. Governing Law and Governing Language

(1) These Terms are interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Where a user has rights under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of their place of residence — such as the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, California, or Japan — nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

(2) These Terms are provided in Korean and English; in case of any discrepancy in interpretation between the two language versions, the Korean version prevails.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision will be reinterpreted to give effect to its original intent as far as possible, and the remaining provisions remain in effect.
